About
The Breathe Together Foundation was founded by Adam and Emily Lucas to support the Cystic Fibrosis community — to fight alongside those who live with CF, and to honor those who are no longer here — by bringing great people together.
Emily was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF) at 18 months old. Emily's life was transformed by Trikafta, a medication that was approved in 2019. Before Trikafta, Emily was in and out of the hospital three times in a year, her lung function was declining, and she was struggling to do the things she loved. Trikafta had immediate results, and Emily's chronic cough subsided. She hasn't been in the hospital since.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) has been instrumental in developing new medications and treatments, but about 10% of the CF population is not eligible to take Trikafta due to different strains of the disease.
